HP Govt to Allow Sale of Liquor in Tetra Packs

The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to permit the sale of liquor in tetra packs, a move aimed at curbing the illicit liquor trade and increasing state revenue. This policy change was approved by the Cabinet yesterday, on June 11. The decision also includes allowing the sale of liquor in PET bottles, particularly for beer, to reduce glass bottle waste. This initiative is part of broader efforts to streamline liquor distribution and enhance public safety.
