The Jal Shakti Department is actively supplying water via tankers to numerous affected areas to mitigate the shortage. Officials attribute the crisis primarily to the drastically reduced water levels in the Markanda river, a consequence of insufficient rainfall. This situation has severely impacted the city's primary water supply schemes, making daily life challenging for many.
