Tourists to pay green tax for entering Manali

The Manali Municipal Council has decided to impose a green tax on all vehicles entering the town, effective from June 1. This move aims to generate revenue for local development and environmental protection. Tourists will now have to pay a fee, with cars being charged Rs 300, SUVs Rs 500, and buses Rs 1,000. This initiative follows a similar model implemented in Shimla and aims to manage the environmental impact of increasing tourism.
